Logistics Update and Extended Delivery Lead Times
Limited shipping container availability is continuing to impact global supply chains. Shipping companies are making fewer containers available, leading to increased demand and pricing. This is causing delays to shipping timelines as a backlog of goods has developed as product waits, sometimes more than two weeks, to be loaded onto a ship.
With the Red Sea shipping crisis ongoing and the Suez Canal experiencing severe congestion and capacity issues, many ships are selecting longer routes. These route adjustments are impacting ports where goods are waiting to be loaded as the expected vessels may arrive late, or not arrive at all.
These issues, and ongoing and planned strikes at docks in Indian ports, have caused significant disruption to supply chains and timelines. After thorough evaluation with our global sourcing offices and logistics experts, Vision Linens is increasing standard lead time for new production that is UK and European landed deliveries to 20 weeks moving forward. We will continue to monitor the situation and update our customers should the situation change. The message to our customers is to order now for new production products required in Q1 2025.
