Vision’s Charity Bonanza – Countdown to Christmas

With Vision Linens Head Office located in Blackburn, Lancashire, rated as the 14th most deprived area of England, Vision knew that its local community would have struggled with the effects of Covid more so than most, over the last couple of years. Knowing this, they took it upon themselves to do something to help give back to the community in its time of need, while at the same time, creating a festive upbeat vibe in the offices for their staff. From this, Vision’s Charity Bonanza – Countdown to Christmas was created.

A weekly schedule of charity events was pulled together to raise money for Blackburn Foodbank which ran for 8 weeks. This included the following:

• The Great Crisp Taste Competition
• The Great Vision Bake Off
• Annual Leave Raffle
• Cheese Club & Bottle Raffle
• Doughnut Club
• Pie & Peas Club, Mince Pie Event & Chocolate Raffle
• Christmas Jumpers, Quiz & Favours Raffle
• Continental Breakfast Club

The team at Vision were incredible, throwing themselves into the weekly events, whether that was donating cash, baking or competing for many of our imaginative titles. In addition to the above events, there were a number of tuck boxes running which proved to be a huge hit. In total across the 8 weeks, Vision raised £508. The company has doubled this amount, to be able to present Blackburn Foodbank with a cheque for £1,017.

Furthermore, foodbank collection boxes were generously filled by the staff at Vision’s Head Office and warehouses, with the help of their neighbours Napthens Solicitors. This will go a long way to ensuring that Blackburn Foodbank can continue to support people in crisis.
