Vision Linens Wins Best New Product 2022
Vision Linens has been awarded Best New Product at this year’s Laundry and Drycleaning Awards (LADAS) for its Hotel Linen Label Checker. Vision put forward their revolutionary new product, which enables hotel auditors, owners, housekeepers, launderers and guests, complete visibility of the linen being used in any guestroom at first sight.
The Hotel Linen Label Checker offers an innovative platform for complete clarity, consistency and commitment of hotel brands’ ever-growing focus to responsibly source their linen. The technology behind this concept is relatively straightforward. Take for example, a pillow with a care label that features a RFID (radio frequency identification) tag. On this same label there is a unique printed QR code which can be scanned by any smartphone. The scanned code directs you to a webpage which lists the pillow’s full credentials. This entails everything from its exact product specification, factory information, supplier information, wash information and product lifecycle.
The concept of a unique QR code printed on a RFID tag combined with UBI Solution’s platform is a simple, but effective method of achieving the following:
- To enable brand hotels and their auditors to verify that affiliates are complying to their linen brand standards
- To propose a way that anyone can verify that hotel linen complies with the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) promises from the brand
- To access the product wash profile and number of washes in its lifecycle
- To provide RFID tracking information
Fraser Donaldson, Vision Linens Group Hospitality Sales and Marketing Director, comments “As a global textile supplier delivering the linen brand standards of some of the biggest hospitality names in the market, we feel it’s of great importance to add continued value to our customers.
For many hotel brands and laundries, the adoption of RFID technology is nothing new. However, with the addition of a scannable QR code which can be loaded with whatever information you wish to publish is something that is incredibly adaptable and value-adding. The ability to act quickly and decisively, but more importantly to unveil complete transparency of hotel brands’ promises and actions, is a driver of success in this digital age.”
The LADAs took place on Thursday 3 November at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge, packed with over 320 guests, to celebrate all that is excellent in the laundry and drycleaning industry. Lee Francis, Sales Director UK for Vision Linens, was there on the night to accept the award on behalf of the team at Vision.
Vision were also a category sponsor of the LADAs for Commercial Laundry of the Year, which Lee presented to Snow White Laundries, a family run business that provides laundry and linen hire throughout South Wales and the West.
Organiser Mark Gleed said: “Tina and I were delighted with the success of the LADAs 2022. It was an incredible turnout and a great atmosphere as we celebrated the people and the talent we have in the industry.”
